It's Smooth Cruising in the Fulton Business District
We hope you are all enjoying the new and improved overlay as you drive up and down Fulton Avenue! After a long wait for this improvement, and many months of traffic delay and congestion, you can now cruise to our favorite Fulton Avenue destination, and to work or home on a smooth and quiet surface. The overlay material used in this project is rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC), also known as asphalt rubber or just rubberized asphalt, is noise reducing pavement material that consists of regular asphalt concrete mixed with crumb rubber made from recycled tires. This product was the #1 choice of the Fulton Avenue Association and the Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SacDOT) for it's internal and external noise-reduction and recycling qualities.
Many thanks go out to all of the businesses on Fulton Avenue, for getting through this difficult, but much needed improvement project with such grace and understanding. Additionally, we would like thank Supervisor Susan Peters and the Leadership at SacDOT for their enduring support of this project; as this project could have slipped down the list of County transportation priorities without their watchful eye. And last, let's all "Tip our Hard Hats" to Teichert Construction for their good work, efficiency, collaborative abilities, attention to detail and management of a tight timeline.
